About this listen

An Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal bestseller.

"Tracy Crosswhite is one of the best protagonists in the realm of crime fiction today, and there is nothing cold about A Cold Trail." (Associated Press)

In New York Times bestselling author Robert Dugoni's riveting series, Seattle homicide detective Tracy Crosswhite returns home to a brutal murder and her haunted past.

The last time homicide detective Tracy Crosswhite was in Cedar Grove, it was to see her sister's killer put behind bars. Now she's returned for a respite and the chance to put her life back in order for herself, her attorney husband, Dan, and their new daughter. But tragic memories soon prove impossible to escape.

Dan is drawn into representing a local merchant whose business is jeopardized by the town's revitalization. And Tracy is urged by the local PD to put her own skills to work on a new case: the brutal murder of a police officer's wife and local reporter who was investigating a cold-case slaying of a young woman. As Tracy's and Dan's cases crisscross, Tracy's trail becomes dangerous. It's stirring up her own haunted past and a decades-old conspiracy in Cedar Grove that has erupted in murder. Getting to the truth is all that matters. But what’s Tracy willing to risk as a killer gets closer to her and threatens everyone she loves?

One of my favorite series!

Another great addition to this series. I wish Dugoni ONLY wrote this series as I find it far superior to his other novels. It has an interesting, intricate story with the same great characters. Tracy has matured and is learning there are things in life more important than work. I've listened to this series as each book released and they are all good, but this one was really, really good. The narration is also fantastic. It's a free listen for Kindle Unlimited subscribers, but I'd happily use a credit to listen to this one.

Equal to all the other Bests of this series

I've known Robert Dugoni's family for many decades - Robert and Betty Lou Kapela and Christina his wife. If I remember correctly there are eight books in the Tracy Crosswhite series which make for an exciting continuity of her life and finally marrying Dan and having a daughter. But she leads a very dangerous career in police and detective work that is constantly putting her life and family at risk. It also threatens the stability of Cedar Grove which is trying to make a comeback to its former goals.

Didn’t disappoint.

Did not disappoint. Nice twist at the end. Tracy having a baby brought a new angst and suspense to the story. Love this series.

Another Good Book in the Series

I like the feel of being in each of the character's heads as they work their way through the storyline. I did need to rewind a couple times to catch all the details and keep the timeline in my head. Excellent narrator, I wish more women detective stories employed her talents.

This is worth the read-listen!

I waited, not so patiently, for the release of this book and it was so worth it!! Tracey, Dan and baby Daniela are back in Cedar Grove while their farmhouse is being renovated. Dan is working on a case fighting the city and Tracey...well she is supposed to be enjoying the last few weeks of maternity leave. Until she meets retired Chief of Police, now acting Chief, Roy Calloway. Tracey is sucked into helping Roy investigate the murder of an investigative reporter, then she becomes a target! It appears that the current murder is related to a 26yo murder. When Tracey becomes a target of the killer, one if her Seattle PD friends...also godparent of Daniela...Fas comes to help. Another fast paced book and, even the minutiae of Dan’s case keeps you engaged.
Highly recommend this book.

Wonderful addition to this series... couldn’t stop!

I love Robert Dugoni and the Tracy Crosswhite series. I listen to the audible during the day when I am puttering around the house and then at night I fall asleep reading on my kindle. Love having the option of both! This book kept me on the edge of my seat so to speak.
