In addition to a token payment, Gaunt requests that each person perform a little "deed", usually a seemingly innocent prank played on someone else from town. These practical jokes cascade out of control, and soon the entire town is doing battle with itself. Only Sheriff Alan Pangborn suspects that Gaunt is behind the population's increasingly violent behavior.

Only one story downloaded and it kept repeating the same lines twice. I enjoy short stories but this download had technical problems in downloading. At least I think that was the problem.

Disappointed
This put me to sleep and not in a good way. The first story I had to skip because it was being read so boringly it lost me. The second story isnt any better. This narrator is terrible. He does not emote in his telling of the story. Just run on sentences and lack luster performance. I'm so glad this was only .66 cents. I see why. Such a disappointment.

Terrible narration
I couldn't even listen to the first chapter in its entirety because of the narrator. It reminds me of Ben Stine's character from Ferris Beuller's Day Off... completely monotone and devoid of any kind of emotion. I don't know how the stories are because I couldn't listen to them to be able to rate them. Absolutely horrible.

hardly worth the 66 cents
the narrator really ruined this one and I'm pretty sure the editing is off. a lot of lines are repeated making it very difficult to listen to. it's a shame, some of the stories would have been great. at only 66 cents, I can't complain to much.

Painful, heartbreaking
These stories were truly robbed of their merit. This was a reader who only spoke the words in front of him with no feeling whatsoever. Although I am a firm believer in 'you get what you pay for ', there is no justification for the complete lack of quality.

Could not finish the first story
The narration of the story was a complete disaster, monotone and an able to connect. No edits were done, sections are read and re-read. Absolutely no feeling went into creating this recording. It’s as if the reader picked up the book for the first time spat it out and sent it on.

So many errors in a very bad narration
There are so many very obvious errors in these narrations, including multiple instances of repeated excerpts in every single story, that it makes it impossible to listen to for me. Not to mention the fact that the narration is a very flat, mispronounces many words, and has no pathos whatsoever.
