Stick with it
Takes a little while to get into the book. Stick with it. The beauty is in the historical vignettes. The leadership applications could be gleaned by reading the table of contents and the bullet list at the end of each chapter.

Not a fan...
I may be in the minority, but I do not like Williams' style or presentation. I feel like he tries to force historical accounts and stories into his personal points that he is trying to make. He paints a caricature of world-famous leaders throughout history (also somewhat cherry-picking big names, not original at all), and in turn, he neglects the nuances of their personalities and only mentions individual challenges as an aside. Leadership is not a recipe to follow based on proof-texting from history, which is the way this came across. I also do not like his delivery in audio format either...came across like I was an audience of one in a large auditorium of a corporate motivational speaker...which is what Pat Williams is.
