About this listen

 　ちえ子さんは可愛らしい児でしたが、勉強がきらいで遊んでばかりいるので、学校を何べんも落第しました。そしてお父さんやお母さんに叱られるごとに、「ああ、嫌だ嫌だ。どうかして勉強しないで学校がよく出来る工夫は無いかしらん」と、そればかり考えておりました。

　ある日、どうしてもしなくてはならぬ算術をやっておりましたが、どうしてもわからぬ上にねむくてたまりませんので、大きなあくびを一つしてお庭に出てみると、白い寒椿がたった一つつぼみを開いておりました。ちえ子さんはそれを見ると、「ああ、こんな花になったらいいだろう。学校にも何にも行かずに、花が咲いて人から可愛がられる。ああ、花になりたい」と思いながら、その花に顔を近づけてにおいをかいでみました。

　その白椿の香気のいい事、眼もくらむようでした。思わずむせ返って、大きなくしゃみを一つして、フッと眼を開いてみると、どうでしょう。眼の前にはちえ子さんそっくりの女の子が立ちながら自分を見上げておりました…

日本の小説家、SF作家、探偵小説家、幻想文学作家。1889年（明治22年）1月4日-1936年（昭和11年）3月11日。他の筆名に海若藍平、香倶土三鳥など。現在では、夢久、夢Qなどと呼ばれることもある。福岡県福岡市出身。日本探偵小説三大奇書の一つに数えられる畢生の奇書『ドグラ・マグラ』をはじめ、怪奇色と幻想性の色濃い作風で名高い。またホラー的な作品もある。(c)2017 Pan Rolling Horror Mystery
