During a long and illustrious career, Ralph Z. "Bud" Sorenson, DBA, has served as president of Babson College; chairman, president, and CEO of Barry Wright Corporation; dean of the School of Business at the University of Colorado-Boulder; professor at Harvard Business School; and co-founder of the Asian Institute of Management. He has also served on numerous corporate and nonprofit boards, including those of major companies like Whole Foods, Polaroid, the Boston Globe, and EMC. Rarely idle, Bud's activities have also included founding a family venture capital firm, the Sorenson Limited Partnership; cycling on very challenging courses in the U.S. and abroad; summiting Mount Kilimanjaro at the age of 58; and traveling extensively throughout the world. Bud and Charlotte, his wife of 58 years, live in Boulder, Colorado, where they continue their daily efforts to learn, love, and laugh their way through life. They also enjoy biking, hiking, and interacting with their friends, three children, and eight grandchildren.
