Alexa Young spent most of her early career as a magazine editor and freelance journalist, contributing to titles including Family Circle, O: The Oprah Magazine, Shape, and Woman's Day. She also coauthored two nonfiction books for adults. But in recent years, Alexa has turned her attention to writing young adult and middle grade fiction. Frenemies was Alexa’s first novel, and is the first in a four-book series produced by Alloy Entertainment. The books have been translated into several languages and were bestsellers in France, where they were also made into graphic novels. In 2012, the Disney Channel premiered the Original TV-Movie based on Frenemies, starring Bella Thorne and Zendaya. In 2015, Alexa continued her work with Disney, penning junior novels based on the hit television series Girl Meets World and Andi Mack, as well as for the fantasy series Star Darlings, created by Ahmet Zappa and Shana Muldoon Zappa. Alexa graduated from the University of California, San Diego, with a degree in Literature/Writing. She now lives in the Los Angeles area. Visit her online at www.alexayoung.com.
