About this listen
These are interactive game books, because they involve, not only in reading, but also in writing and activate the imagination. They are novels steeped in symbolism and mystery, where reality and fantasy intertwine with each other without giving any more points of reference.
These are "poetic essays", that is, a mixture of essay and novel interspersed every now and then with poetry.
Another characteristic of this book is the reference to the documentary film genre, as it is illustrated (the writer is also a book illustrator). The illustrations and photos are used to give the reader e writer an idea of what the setting of the novel should be, to suggest the description of the characters (therefore with a distant reference to photo novels or in any case to illustrated books for children). Another novelty in the book is the fact that we meet characters by other writers referring to settings contemporary to the story, in this story I limited myself to inserting passages from my books and the figure of Ignazio da Toledo, taken from Marcello Simoni's work "The merchant of cursed books" published in 2011 by Newton Compton Editori, in the New Newton narrative series, to promote the reading of such books and make them known, trying to include references to other writers in the novels, as already happens in the essays. For this reason, I was inspired by William Seward Burroughs II, better known as William S. Burroughs, who was an American writer, essayist and painter, among the greatest exponents of the culture of the second half of the twentieth century, who wrote, among others, " Naked meal”.
In the story there are also references to the life of Jesus, considering the hypothesis that he did not die, but take them as simple fantastic digressions, without the intention of undermining anyone's religious beliefs. These references were taken from my other books and were inserted along the lines of the mixed works of William S. Burroughs and also take up the figure of Father Ernetti, the alleged inventor of the chronovisor, or the machine that allowed one to see back in time, in our case, however, the possibility for the chrononaut to travel through time is also hypothesized.
Time travel, which is one of the themes of this book, occurs thanks to the opening of space-time doors that open only on the solstices of particular years and particular places.
This story also recalls some themes dealt with in Umberto Eco's novel: "The name of the rose" (Published by Bompiani, 1980), but in our case the characters portrayed in the story actually lived and the places mentioned are precisely identified, detailed and often depicted.
The novel develops in various eras: at the time of Jesus, and mainly in the years 1204, 1307, 1944 of our era.
In the story, the chrononaut through the search for the treasure of the Templars, and the true Holy Shroud, leads the reader from the Middle Ages to the present day, along the path of the Dolcinian and Cathar heresies in a context where fiction, fantasy and reality are confused, for disorientate the reader and then become a legend, but remember that it is always a Reality Book Open and therefore it could all be true.
It should be noted that the translation was not made by a native speaker and that the poetic appendix was not translated, to maintain the original sound, for this reason the book costs less than the original Italian version.
