About this listen

Never again would I allow my heart to become the plaything of someone else. Never again would I let a man (or men) come between me and my goals. Never again would I love without feeling the fullness of that love in return. Not until I knew it was real. And if that took me a lifetime to find, so be it.

Those were my vows, and after all that had happened with Connor and Weston, I was determined to keep them. To protect my heart. And then he came home, and my vows became his promises.

He held my heart in his hands with reverence and care. He helped me find my soul's greatest purpose in life. He loved me with a love so pure and vibrant, I knew I'd never feel anything like it in 100 lifetimes. It was real.

Until it wasn't. Until it all came crashing down when I discovered the deep love I thought I'd found was nestled in a web of lies - so soft and silken I hadn't noticed it was there. Until it was too late.

Contains mature themes.

What listeners say about Long Live the Beautiful Hearts

Highly rated for:

The Story Is An Emotional And Beautifully Written Romance That Follows The Deep Friendship And Eventual Love Between The Two Main Characters, Weston And Conner. Their Journey Is Filled With Tragedy, Heartbreak, And The Challenges Of Military Life, But Ultimately Showcases The Power Of True Friendship, Love, And Healing. The Narration And Poetry Intertwined In The Story Are Highly Praised, Adding Depth And Emotion To The Captivating Plot. However, Some Readers Found The Romance To Be Excessively Slow-paced, The Military Storyline A Bit Contrived, And The Overall Length Of The Story Excessive. Despite These Criticisms, The Emotional Depth, Well-crafted Writing, And Heartfelt Themes Make It A Standout Romance For Many Readers.

My eyes are overflowing

Emma writes characters I remember. This duet is no different. If you need an emotional release, you can find it here. These characters went through the wringer, but love won out.

Painfully slow

Listen, I’m all for a mutual pining, slow burn, will they/won’t they love story, but this is agonizingly slow. Within the push and pull of the lie, there’s no believable build up. All the tension seems disingenuous and the story feels heavily fabricated. All throughout the first and second book, I found myself listening at 1.75x speed, yelling “just tell her?!” the entire time.

A rollercoaster you don’t want to get off of.

This duet was a heartbreaker. Haven’t ugly cried like that over a story since Beaches. But the story was beautiful and happy in so many ways. One of the best written stories I’ve ever read. Touched all of the heart strings and left all kinds of feelings behind.

Soooooooo slooooooooooow

The bones of the story are beautiful. The military plot line is a bit contrived, if I’m being completely honest. But overall, the love Wes has for Autumn is delightful. It’s just…. It gets to a point where the dishonesty, the inability to communicate feelings (in friendship and in love) is truly unbearable at times, and not in a good way. It’s just pretty unrealistic that something like this would get drawn out to the lengths that it takes in this 2-parter. Frankly, a second book was not needed. Unnecessary and frustrating.

Sad

This whole story was sooo sad. The h had to endure over 95% of the lie. Both main characters didn’t end together until the end of this LONG senseless story. I wanted to give less than three stars but the story did move well. Like a said, the was sad and inspire at all! Hate both Connor and Weston. No redemption for me.

Wow ! So beautiful, sad and interesting

I loved it and I'm not a fan of military movies or book's, but this was really interesting. Two friends, one with a heart of steel and one with a heart of gold. The story was long, but definitely worth. It was a tear jerker, u feel so sorry for W. Later you're so happy for him. ❤️ The male narration was great, the female narrator wasn't bad. This story goes to show u what true friendship and true love is.

Loved It!!!

Such an incredible story. So much emotion, pain, forgiveness, learning what is really important in life. So many important messages. Again I loved the relationships between Connor, Weston and Autumn. So complex, traumatic, but beautiful. Weston's mom and Paul are the best secondary characters. Ruby is great in this book again as well. So much to love and the best HEA. The narration was just as incredible in this second book!!!!

5 stars for Sock Boy with Diamond Head

A promising story of brotherhood, the real love shared between two men, who've had each other's back since childhood. It goes through the extremities of life from young crushes to first love, from taking a bullet for each other to sacrificing their hearts for each other. Connor and Weston have done it all, seen it all, given up ALL. That all includes Autumn, whose gracious compassionate soul knows how to hive and give, not wanting any thing in return for herself. Fate played on them a cruel joke in book 1- Bring Down the Stars, This book hobble along on crutches on the healing path. It's hard, they stumble, wobble, they mess up and fess up some secrets too. Hearts get broken, ripped apart, reunited and tenderly take faltering steps. Emma has poured her heart out in this story, This series and it touches readers hearts very softly. We cry while smiling and smile while bawling. 5 stars for Sock Boy with Diamond Head
