About this listen
"And It Was Very Good is a marital intimacy book written specifically for Latter-day Saints. “A practical, forthright guide to marital sexuality. And It Was Very Good offers important sex education and relationship guidance that many Latter-day Saint couples need.” (Jennifer Finlayson-Fife, PhD, LCPC, host of the Ask a Mormon Sex Therapist podcast)
“And It Was Very Good is a valuable resource of clinically accurate and comprehensive sexual education that fits within the value structure of Latter-day Saints. Many problems I see as a sex therapist could be avoided if couples had this type of information prior to or at the beginning of their marital relationship.” (Natasha Helfer Parker, LCMFT, CST, host of the Mormon Sex Info podcast.
By listening to And It Was Very Good, an engaged couple will prepare for the wedding night with confidence in the purity of the act. A newlywed couple will join in the marriage bed ready to make the act one of joy. A long-married couple will find new ways to share the act of marriage.
And It Was Very Good is much more than the “facts of life.” Subjects discussed in detail include the “thou shalt” of marriage, desire, anatomy, foreplay, female pleasure, male pleasure, the wedding night, and much more. The frank but respectful advice in And It Was Very Good is presented in a tasteful manner along with framing in gospel principles. All married couples will find themselves drawing closer together by listening to And It Was Very Good.
And It Was Very Good is a perfect gift for an engaged couple, newlyweds, or a spouse.

For much of the 20th and 21st centuries, women’s sexuality was an uncharted territory in science, studied far less frequently - and far less seriously - than its male counterpart. That is, until Emily Nagoski’s Come As You Are, which used groundbreaking science and research to prove that the most important factor in creating and sustaining a sex life filled with confidence and joy is not what the parts are or how they’re organized but how you feel about them.

This is a great book for the intended LDS and similar audiences. It flows well. Covers all the main topics, even some of the assumed "taboo" ones. It even has some quirky side handed humor. I will be giving this to every new married couple that invites me to their wedding.

A possible required read for every newly wed!
The title lists this book as, "A Latter-day Saints Guide" and this is certainly the target audience but this book has nuggets of truth and wisdom for relationships of any age or any background.
Today's culture, especially what is portrayed in the movies or on TV, provides a disservice to "real" relationships and the mechanics of a marriage between a man and a woman and their expectations.
Being raised in a Latter-day Saint environment, abstinence before marriage was the rule. Sexual education was limited to the parents and if not your parents, . . .
I was very lucky that someone recommended a book called The Marriage Art. But it was still a difficult transition from NO. NO, NO to let it all hang out!
I will be recommending this book to all my sons (have no daughters) as required reading prior to their wedding. I think it would be a great gift to anyone coming from a traditional abstinence before marriage background, not just Latter-day Saints.
